About the craftmanship
These Capiz pieces showcase the remarkable mastery of Negros artisans, whose 15–25 years of experience and deep knowledge of natural materials make each creation possible. The Capiz shells are first meticulously cleaned, then carefully roasted to dry and brighten their color—the longer the roast, the warmer the hue—before being shaped into geometric window silhouettes. This intricate process, combined with the use of lightweight Hagnaya vine, allows the Capiz pieces to maintain both elegance and durability. Each design reflects a meaningful collaboration with designer Mia, celebrating Filipino culture and history while transforming it into contemporary, wearable art.
