Embrace your inner warrior with the Nonom Bangle – a woven wonder that wraps your wrist in fearless charm and ancestral magic!

Crafted with a woven pattern reminiscent of the traditional nonom bamboo, this bracelet pays homage to the intricate artistry found in Tboli house architecture. As a staple material in their homes, nonom - a weaved bamboo - represents resilience and community spirit.

Tboli brass casters have woven courage and ancestral protection into every twist and turn of this bracelet.

The Tboli are celebrated as visionary brass-casters, woodworkers, and “Dreamweavers”. The art of Temwel (brass-casting) is an honoured tradition passed down for generations.

To craft each piece, the artisans use upcycled brass and other metal scraps from local junk shops. These are then transformed into new designs that honor Tboli tradition, folklore, and nature. Temwel involves a complex process of wax rolling, clay molding, and molten metal casting that usually takes days to complete.

Each of our pieces are handmade in small batches to showcase the highest quality Tboli craftsmanship available. Naturally, this means your jewelry will have small imperfections and a unique character to it.

Sesotunawa

Sesotunawa is a Tboli Indigenous-owned social enterprise that celebrates the stories of Lake Sebu through Temwel (Tboli brass casting) and Temool Lemimet (Tboli beading). Sesotunawa’s co-founder and master brass caster is Kuya Joel, who learned the art of Temwel by helping his grandmother roll wax and cast brass in her workshop. Sesotunawa is named after the Tboli virtue that translates into “the spirit of working together”.
