Sigol Nedek Mountains Brass Bangle

The Sigol Nedek Brass Bangle is a tribute to the soul of the highlands — to lands that breathe, and to a culture that endures with grace and quiet power.

Forged in brass, it carries the stillness and strength of the mountains that encircle Lake Sebu, nestled in the sacred Daguma Range of South Cotabato. These are not distant landscapes — they are living ground, the ancestral homeland of the Tboli people, where hunters tread softly, dreamweavers spin stories in sleep, and every path remembers.

‘Sigol Nedek,’ meaning dotted zigzag in the Tboli tongue, echoes the rugged silhouettes of the peaks and the intricate motifs carved by memory and tradition. Each curve of the bangle mirrors the rhythm of the land — the rise and fall of hills, the heartbeat of footsteps on ancestral trails, and the enduring grace of nature’s design.

The Tboli are celebrated as visionary brass-casters, woodworkers, and “Dreamweavers”. The art of Temwel (brass-casting) is an honoured tradition passed down for generations. 

To craft each piece, the artisans use upcycled brass and other metal scraps from local junk shops. These are then transformed into new designs that honor Tboli tradition, folklore, and nature. Temwel involves a complex process of wax rolling, clay molding, and molten metal casting that usually takes days to complete.

Each of our pieces are handmade in small batches to showcase the highest quality Tboli craftsmanship available. Naturally, this means your jewelry will have small imperfections and a unique character to it.
