Based in Denver, Colorado, Liberti is an ethical jewelry brand that is changing lives. Liberti launched in 2015, but its roots go back several years when Liberti’s founder, Pamela Norton-Shelpuk, first volunteered to resettle new refugees in the United States. Pamela became acquainted with a refugee family from Nepal and was touched by their heartbreaking story. She realized that even after fleeing their homes and spending years in camps, refugees continue to face significant barriers after they’ve resettled in the US. She knew she had to do something, and thus Liberti was born.
Liberti provides meaningful employment to refugees in America and integrates them into all aspects of the business – from jewelry making to inventory management and customer service. They provide on-the-job training and career building opportunities with the aim of helping resettled refugees to truly become “free to live the dream” of a safe, happy, and fulfilling life.
Liberti is committed to doing business the right way and handcrafts their jewelry with love. When you purchase a Liberti piece, you directly help a resettled refugee gain dignified employment and career building opportunities. The more Liberti pieces we sell, the more refugees Liberti can employ.
Every Liberti piece is also made in America using only ethically sourced, non-toxic, and quality metals. Even their packaging is locally made from recycled and vegetable-dyed materials, so every part of you can feel good and empowered.
